If the not becomes untied on my sutures on my lip what do I do?
I was hit with a linedrive baseball in the mouth and it cut my lip 9 days ago. The sutures just came untied and I don't know if I need to leave them alone, pull them out, or see a doctor.

- Usually sutures come out after ten days anyway. If it were me, I'd pull it out. I always remove my own sutures.
- They might not be untied but just a loose end sticking out. If you weren't given instructions on when to return to have the sutures removed, I would call the doctor to ask. They may be ready to be removed.
- The same exact thing happened to my son, and a plastic surgeon put in sutures that dissolved on their own. If they are black, they will probably need to be removed, but if they are a light blue or another color, they may dissolve on their own. I am guessing they will dissolve if they are in your lip.. good luck...
