Delta airlines?

Anybody have any experience of using Delta airlines? I'm flying from Edinburgh to NY, Ny to San Fran this summer and wondering how the flights will be? Good food/entertainment? They already changed the flight stop overs with no notification, so I'm hoping the flights won't be as bad as the service! Thanks!

  1. I've never had a problem with Delta. I flew from NY to Vegas a couple years ago with them and from what I remember, the food was decent, flight attendants were friendly, and everything went smoothly.
  2. I flew them from Europe to JFK, it was ok. Nothing great about the food - you have to pay for cocktails ( you get it free with a meal - you just have to ask ) We had no movie choice. The plane I was on did not have individual entertainment in the seat in front of you. Upon check in, try to ask for an Emergency Row seat, helps out with the leg room. JFK- dealing with customs there is a nightmare, so be patient. We waited over 50 minutes for our bags and the Delta baggage claim area is a nightmare, there really is no structure. You wont get any food service from JFK to San Fran, so if you have time you may want to grab something in the terminal.
  3. Take your own snacks on the plane with you........get a sandwich too..........airline food is not that good......Delta has never been that good but all of the top notch airlines are going down the tubes too................ My other half flies weekly.......we check to make sure the airline is flying on time........as we get to the airport.......it is delayed a half an hour then it can be delayed up to 4 hours.........what a pain.........He has his laptop with him.......some airports it is free to use.........others he has to pay a few dollar fee to use it..... You aren't able to take a beverage through security........so get some type of beverage in bottles after you pass through security........or take a water bottle and have a restaurant fill it with water for you..........there are now those single flavored packets to add to a bottle of water.......... I pack 1 sandwich cut in half in two sandwich bags........some grapes........mini bananas.......a small bag of pre sliced apples........and some home made cookies...........I put it in a zip lock with a slider and he eats this on the plane........and we could certainly afford any food he wanted........it is just too hard to stand in long lines for your beverage for on the plane and then to try and get food to go to............we live in CA
  4. if you booked your ticket through a source other than delta, ie a travel agency, or an online booking service like orbitz or travelocity, delta contacts them when there is a schedule change. so that may or may not explain why you were or were not contacted. most of our aircraft have an in-flight entertainment system in the back of the seat in front of you. hope this helps.
  5. Ugh...I've had a problem with Delta airlines...Two years ago, me and my mom were coming home from Atlanta. We'd flown United there and Delta back. But this flight...It really wasn't the flight...We had to sit on the plane for like an hour and half because the caters were late. They gave us free head phones that you normally have to pay 5 dollars for.
  6. They are a top notch 5 star airline, who always treat me like royalty. I highly recommend them!
  7. suckish ailrine, i would never reccomend them to any 1!!! i ahd so much trouble with them!!!!
  8. Delta is a very average airline. There are worse airlines, but there are definitely better ones. My main objection to them is that they now use narrow-body aircraft on some transatlantic flights. The Edinburgh service is operated with a 757 aircraft. Don't expect much in the way of comfort.
  9. delta 100% good i flown san juan pr-orlando(w-a stopover of 1day&4h)
